Bio

A lifelong Austinite, Jimmie Dreams’ life trajectory forever changed when an infant Jimmie escaped from his stroller, only to be taken in by roving Austin Musicians.  His first full sized guitar was purchased from a protoge of Lightnin’ Hopkins.  His longtime childhood teacher learned from SRV himself.  Today his guitar playing, described as “ingenious” by Offbeat Magazine, has taken him nearly around the world.  From Osaka to Helsinki, from dimly lit dives to festival stages with tens of thousands of attendees, from small house concerts to playing for Barack Obama himself, JD’s illustrious & varied story boasts a lifetime of musical expression starting with his first paid gig at age eight.  His extensive touring, recording, and performing has put him alongside such amazing performers as Cyril Neville (5 years, guitar), his brothers Art & Charles, Ivan Neville, Soul Rebels Brass Band (~1 year, guitar), Delbert McClinton, Marcia Ball, Tab Benoit, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, George Porter, Jr., Russell Batiste, Raul Malo, Guy Forsyth, Carolyn Wonderland, WC Clark, Gary Clark, Jr., Papa Mali, and many others.  His recent endeavors have found him venturing out to center stage, under the spotlight, and on to making his name as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader for Crescent Soul Revue, the Gritones, and a slew of other bands.
